YouTube is aiming to curb inappropriate content by offering an appeal process to users whose videos were restricted from earning ad revenue.

YouTube is launching an array of new tools allowing for users to more efficiently determine which videos are eligible for advertising and request appeals for previous videos incorrectly declared as inappropriate.
A new icon list will help users ascertain the eligibility of their videos for advertisement, with a green icon indicating the possibility for income through a broad range of advertisers.
While yellow shows a video's eligibility for profit through YouTube Red, with ineligible videos showing a slashed-out dollar sign.
But I want to make money
The new array of icons will integrate with YouTube’s new and improved monetisation troubleshooter, flagging criteria of potential issues for a given video.
In addition, Video Manager will now allow users to appeal icon designations without having to link to a separate webpage.
The new features will be announced in the coming weeks through YouTube’s Creator Studio.
