YouTube has launched Director, a suite of products designed to help brands create video ads without breaking the bank.
Lights, camera, upload
YouTube announced Director in a blog post, explaining the feature comprises three elements: an app, professional assistance, and animated video.
The YouTube Director app lets businesses create videos directly from their smartphone. The iOS app provides a step-by-step template to production, and suggests a shot list of what to capture.
YouTube says no editing experience is required, and once the video is complete it can be directly uploaded to YouTube, and run along an AdWords campaign.
Film quality?
If you're looking for something a little higher end, YouTube Director onsite connects businesses in select cities with a professional filmmaker – as long as you spend US$150 to advertise on YouTube.
Finally, YouTube Director automated video will create a video ad based on your existing assets, such as logos and screenshots.
With viewing time on YouTube increasing 50% year-on-year, Director could be an easy way for brands to connect without shelling out big bucks.
