The latest lens from Snapchat creation tools is bringing 2D objects to life in augmented reality.
Photos with panache
Snapchat wants users to interact with new advertisements by “unlocking” signs and posters to reveal hidden animations and more.
The real genius behind the new feature is the embedded marker tracking feature that allows 2D items to become vivid augmented objects that users can then tag with a Snapcode for others to discover.
A new segmentation template will allow users to completely transform backgrounds, portraits, and even hair within photos.
There’s more!
Users will also be able to further alter their own portraits by bringing in photos of other friends from their Camera Roll to create new forms of personal content.
All of the new Lens Studio tools have been limited previously to the Snapchat team and their associated developers.
The new features open the doors to creative users that may be just itching to up the ante on professional creative posts. Perhaps a Snap-artistic renaissance is afoot.
