Social media management tools are a dime a dozen, so when looking to review we're always on the look out for something a little different, a fresh approach if you will.
So it was with a happy day when we recently stumbled upon the enigmatically named IFTTT.
Acronym action
IFTTT stands for If This Then That and it's a clever website that takes a creative approach to social media management.
Simply put, IFTTT lets you build in automated actions, which it dubs “recipes”, so you don't have to go through the rigmarole of doing them yourself every time.
Social shortcut
For example, if there's an upcoming event in Google Calendar you want a text reminder about, you can whip up a recipe to do this.
Or if you want all of your Facebook and Instagram photos automatically saved to Dropbox, IFTTT can do that too.
Easy does it
The best thing about IFTTT is its ease of use – no scripting or programming skills required.
IFTTT walks you through the process of cooking up a recipe using icons that are created with a few sentences. Once a recipe is created you decide when to activate and schedule it.
You can also see recipes other users have created and use them yourself in your own social 'cooking'.
Flavour of the month
IFTTT works with all major social platforms and for its creativity and flexibility, is hard to beat. Especially considering IFTTT is free.
