SMK’s app of the week: Workflow

They say life is all about flow: whether you’re riding a wave or focusing on your breathing.

There’s nothing saying this philosophy can’t apply to mobile apps, which is where Workflow comes in.

Workflow is a new iOS app designed to help create workflows through connecting your apps and actions. It does this by breaking them down into easy-to-follow-steps, sort of like baking a cake.

For example, you want to make a GIF to post on Twitter. Workflow lets you drag and drop images from your camera roll, then uses an app such as Boomerang to make a GIF than can then be posted on your Twitter app.

With over 150 actions the possibilities are pretty much endless, and Workflow’s smoothly designed interface makes trying new combinations intuitive and fun.

If you’re looking for some inspiration into streamlining, the app features a Gallery showing a range of "Workflows" other users have created. These can be customised for your needs.

Everything is tightly integrated with iOS 9 and Workflow even suggests uses for existing apps you didn’t know about.
