Pinterest keeps on rolling out the updates; the latest sees its web search getting significantly more powerful.
Search and ye shall pin
Pinterest recently announced that the Guided Search feature, which was released on mobile in April, was now available on the web.
Now when users visit Pinterest.com they will be presented with a search bar that filters keywords to deliver more relevant content.
For example, users searching for the term “dinner party” might be shown results including the keywords “recipe”, “entertainment ideas”, “party soundtracks”, and so on.
Connect the dots
The update makes sense as Pinterest seeks to make relevant content easier for its users to find amid some 30 billion pins.
Guided Search also fits in with Pinterest's recent moves towards monetisation, as brands paying for content will want assurances it's reaching the right users.
Guided Search is now available in the US, with a global roll out expected shortly.
