Pinterest Lens, the ambitious visual discovery tool, has just got a bunch of updates.
Here’s what you need to know.
Lens a hand
Lens can now handle multiple objects at once.
For example, if your take a pic of your friend in her living room, Lens can now (theoretically) tell you where you bought her shoes, while offering design ideas based on that Danish coffee table in the background.
Lens is also getting smarter, thanks to user feedback. Over the past months savvy users have added a range of new items to the Lens library, including cashew nuts and glitter slime. Yum.
QR
Yes, QR codes are still a thing. Lens can now read QR codes, so pointing your phone at one will automatically lead to a linked website or Pinterest board. No need to tap.
Finally, iPhone users also get a shortcut to Lens that Android users have been playing around with for weeks.
While Lens is still in beta, Pinterest says an official launch is coming soon. Stay tuned.
Have you used Lens? Let us know how it went in the Comments. And whether cashew nuts were involved.
