Facebook has quietly launched two chat apps for for Workplace, its business app and Slack rival.
Messenger goes to work
After listening to feedback from its 14,000 businesses, Workplace now comes with chat and screen sharing apps for Mac and PC.
Workplace will allow users to not only screen share, but choose which specific app they wish to – rather than the entire screen. The increase privacy marks a significant edge over their competition.
The screen sharing component will supplant current video communication apps such as Skype and WebEx.
Facebook’s strongest chip in the game
The apps are still in beta, with a wider roll out expected shortly.
While Workplace for Facebook hasn't exactly set the business world on fire. Facebook is slowly building up its functions, and wider appeal.
Stay tuned to see if there's a place for Facebook at work, without emojis and fan videos.
