Facebook has announced that it will now let multiple users upload images to the same photo album.
Vision
Now Facebook users can create and share a photo album with up to 50 contributors, who can each upload up to 200 photos.
To keep the collaboration going, these contributors can in turn invite others to the album.
Album creators retain control over privacy settings and who has access to the images.
Until now, users could only upload photos to albums they had created.
Social snapshot
Photos are big currency on Facebook, with images and video being far more likely to be shared than text-only updates.
While the feature will undoubtedly prove popular with users wanting to share snapshot from events such as weddings, brands will also benefit from having a new way users to visually engage users.
Shared albums will begin rolling out next week for desktop, with mobile support expected to follow shortly.
