Facebook gets festive with Birthday Videos

Facebook has celebrated turning 12 by announcing a new way users can share the virtual love: birthday videos.

The new Birthday Cam for iOS lets you post a 15 second video greeting to your friends celebrating their big day.

Birthday-themed frames can also be added before being shared on your friend’s wall.

Birthday notifications have become ubiquitous, some might say laborious, as Facebook’s reach has increased. 

Through adding a bit more of a personal touch, Facebookers might be more inclined to ramp up their birthday spirit. And Facebook's engagement levels.

The update is now available on Facebook’s iOS app.
