Whoever said Facebook was just about Likes and soaring profits?
The social network has shown its softer side with the launch of a new website for nonprofits.
Learning curve
Facebook for Nonprofits is designed as a space to give nonprofits and NGOs advice on how to improve the performance of their Facebook Pages.
"We want to help nonprofits use Facebook more effectively to achieve these goals, so today we’re launching a new website geared specifically to nonprofits with detailed product information and examples," Facebook Marketing Manager Joanne Sprague wrote in a blog post.
A lot to Like
The page is essentially an instruction manual for Facebook best-practice – including sections on Getting Started, Raising Awareness, Activate Supporters, and Raising Funds.
As more features and products become available, Facebook for Nonprofits will be updated to reflect the latest tips and trends.
The push is part of a wider social outreach embarked upon by Facebook over the past year.
Other initiatives include a team dedicated to socially beneficial products and an updated fundraiser feature.
