eBay has announced its Valet service is now getting into the high-end apparel game.
New bidness
eBay Valet debuted in 2014 as an iOS app that sold clothing, electronics, household items, sporting goods and antiques for customers.
Now Valet has partnered with fashion blogger Garance Doré to expand into spruiking high-end fashion.
Fashion first
Considering eBay sells a dress every second and a pair of shoes every two seconds, the move into designer wear seems a smart play for Valet, and offering another way users and brands can sell on the platform.
Valet only requires sellers to ship their items to the company. Once received, Valet takes care of the listing, photos, shipping and payment.
Depending on the amount items are sold for, sellers typically walk away with between 60 – 80 per cent of the sale price.
