You might have heard a lot about 360 video and Virtual Reality this year, but it can be hard to visualise without strapping on a headset.
Happily help (and explanations) are at hand with the upcoming Convergence VR Festival in Sydney this April.
Reel life
Convergence bills itself as equal parts conference, trade show, and networking event focused on overlapping and emerging technologies.
This means all things geeky, wonderful and social such as wearable technology and smart devices.
Among other groundbreaking things, Microsoft will be showcasing its futuristic HoloLens, which merges holograms with reality.
Touch and feel
Between the augmented reality and panel discussions, a range of top-tier speakers will be appearing.
These include Shauna Keller (Clay Park VR, ex Oculus Rift), Chris Wood (Co-founder and CTO Xped), and Lawrence Crumpton, who has the awesome title of Technical Evangelist at Microsoft.
And it wouldn't be a tech festival without the option of purchasing your own VR headset for the bargain price of $35.
Convergence is happening April 7 at UTS Broadway, Ultimo NSW. To register visit convergence.events.
