Ripple makes waves with Professional Matching App

Former Tinder employees have splintered off to create their own match-maker inspired app for professional networking.

Looking to compete with professional networking giant LinkedIn, Ripple represents a mobile-based alternative with a focus on professional mutual consent matching with a Tinder approach.

To get started, Ripple pulls existing information from your Google, LinkedIn, and Twitter accounts to generate main profiles. Skills and interests can all be viewed on the same page by pursuers.

Ripple is hoping that their design will curtail the traditional obstacles of professional networking, such as spam and unwanted connection requests.

A Tinder by any other name…

While striving to be distinct and business orientated, there are still some similarities that cannot be ignored regarding Ripple’s hookup-centric predecessor. It's still a swipe for yes or no.

Profile pictures are the centrepiece of any member’s page. There are even rumblings of “face scan” capabilities by which someone can be scanned and instantly searched through the Ripple database.

People using the app “unprofessionally” will be the greatest issue out of the gate, which Ripple intends to combat with quick-access reporting features. The app is now available for iOS and Android users.
