SMK’s app of the week: Words U

They say you should never stop learning. But let's face it, continuing personal development can be challenging when balancing work and play.

However one way to make learning more fun (or at least accessible) is via Words U.

Word up

Words U is a well versed app dedicated to helping you learn new, impressive sounding words.

It works like this: simply compose a message to your friends, then Words U will substitute some of your adjectives to make you sound much more sagacious.

It's sort of like auto-populate, but powered by a grammar nerd.

Spelling bee

To make sure your not sending out any indecorous missives, you can tap on any substituted word to look up its definition. 

And the more you use it, the more Words U adapts to your writing style. Power users can progress through to higher literary levels and see their regular verbs replaced with very fancy jargon.

Live and learn

Words U offers a fun take on messaging, and might even up your vocabulary in the process.

It's also rumoured to quite efficacious when learning a new language.
