Facebook has just rolled out a new way for users to share their location on Messenger.
Mobile movements
Messenger users have long been able to let their friends know where they are.
Now they can also send a map of their location.
To access the update, tap the "More" icon on the Messenger homepage to bring up the "Location" feature.
This will display a map where the user's location is pinned, which can be sent in a message.
Walkabout
To keep things social, when users want to meet they can send a map to a friend when searching for a spot to meet. Tapping a location map in a message opens a full-screen map.
At this stage locations are being kept to personal messages.
But it's not too much of a leap to imagine some form of this functionality being rolled out to marketers in the future.
