YouTube has released a new version of its mobile app that helps content creators expand their subscriber list.
Press Play
YouTube announced the update, which applies to both iOS and Android apps, in a blog post.
Now users will be shown a Subscription tab on the home screen, which displays the latest videos from channels they're subscribed to.
Viewers also have the ability to add a phone notification when a new video is uploaded.
The new app also sports a Recommendations List based on viewing history, and personalised playlists.
And for those that like holding their phone upright, vertical videos can now be viewed full-screen
Facebook flounder
The update comes as Facebook continues to encroach on YouTube's territory.
By helping its power users and brands keep their fanbase engaged, YouTube is staying one step ahead. For now.
