Foursquare has just released Swarm 4.0, an overhaul of the app that includes plenty of goodies for users and brands.
Swarm on this
Swarm is the spin-off app from Foursquare, and allows users to check-in to to locations and see which friends are nearby (arguably, these were the most popular features of Foursquare).
Swarm now sports a swish new Profile Page and a refreshed Search function.
You can access an interactive map which displays every location you've ever checked-in to.
Location, location
These locations can be broken down into categories such as restaurants, airports, and retailers. Tapping on any of these categories breaks down the data even further.
For example, tapping on restaurants might reveal you check-in to Thai restaurants most often.
Dig deeper and Swarm will display a list of the most popular Thai restaurants in your area.
Aside from making it easier for grab a bite to eat, the update also means brands are more discoverable to Swarm's 8 million global users.
