Attempting to round up a bunch of fresh employees, McDonald’s has turned to Snapchat for an innovative recruitment process.
I’ll take one job to go, please
McDonald’s has broadened its reach for young men and women with what it's calling “Snaplications.”
Users can watch a 10-second video ad about the work culture at McDonald's, with an accompanying link to their career page and application form. This is all powered through Snapchat.
The golden arches get savvy online
With increased competition amongst youth and older workers, McDonald’s “Snaplications” piggy-backs Snapchat’s age range on a platform already familiar to millennials.
Teenagers are more comfortable with a smartphone in hand, which makes partnering phone friendly applications a clever step for recruiting youthful workers.
McDonald’s is projecting to hire an estimated 250,000 employees this season, thanks to the new process. If successful, we may see an increase in mobile applications for hiring.
Would you apply for a job over Snapchat?
